New Commercial Director for Fairways

September 2019

Jane, was recently promoted into the position of  Commercial Director at Fairways.  Due to our on-going growth strategy for Fairways, Jane will head up the operations side of the business and will play a key role in the company’s growth performance.

Fairways is growing!

January 2018

Having enjoyed more than 7 years in the Balmoral Suite premises, we agreed the offices had become too small and so took the decision to move to bigger premises as part of our growth strategy. Towards the end of 2017, we renovated the old Royal British House property and made it a grand building once more – as it deserves to be. So lately, although not moving very far, we have seen busy times both in workload and relocating to our new premises in the remarkable Royal British House building in Leonard Street Perth and we are delighted to see the improvements draw to a close. With on-site parking, premises even closer to the train station than previously, our clients find this very handy. We now have an improved venue to hold our training sessions and hiring our board room externally for client meetings and events.

Fairways Achieves Double Gold!

June 2016

Whilst having Investors in People Gold since 2012, Fairways now also has Investors in Young People Gold accreditation. Fairways is the first recruitment agency in Scotland to achieve Gold standard in both awards, and the fifth organisation in Scotland. Investors in Young People is the only people management standard that focuses on an employer’s recruitment and retention of young people.

Gold Investors in Young People accreditation demonstrates Fairways as an employer of choice for young people and testifies to our effective Youth Employment practices.

New Addition to the Team

January 2018

Meet Jane our Financial Controller.   Fairways has grown to a size where we need a qualified accountant to take care of our finances and Jane fits the bill perfectly!  We are all looking forward to the renewed financial processes and improvements coming our way.

Women Ahead Finalist

March 2016

Fairways became one of three finalists in the coveted Most Enterprising Business of the Year Award. Although losing out to the winner, the team enjoyed a great evening with their guests at the Apex Hotel in Dundee.

New Dundee Branch Opens

October 2015

Fairways opens its new Dundee office in Exchange Street to cope with the demand for providing services closer to the city. Providing its clients with both HR consultancy and recruitment solutions, Fairways continues to provide the full employment suite of people management services from recruitment through to termination to address the varied challenges faced by today’s employers.

Fairways – the recruitment company of choice and different from any other due to the services we provided for our clients. No other recruitment firm provides the complete employability package of services from recruitment to termination. From recruitment to absence and performance management to disciplinary hearings and investigations, dismissal and employment tribunal representation, we have the solutions employers need with Symphony HR.

Our very first attempt at IIP accreditation and we achieved Gold – what an achievement and one we are so proud of.

New Perth premises

October 2010

Its busy, busy times relocating to our new premises in Leonard Street Perth which ticks every box on our list. On-site parking, premises so close to the train station, we can almost fall in and it is so handy for our clients. We now have a great place to hold our training sessions or hire our board room externally for meetings and events.

It’s all change at Fairways!

It seems an age since our managing director officially became the new owner of Fairways as she had been working on this acquisition for 8 or 9 months before everything could be concluded. From a passionate corporate HR director to passionate business owner she is bringing in new concepts and creating a new brand for Fairways with diverse new services in the pipeline – Everything HR and we are all excited. Oh, the mysterious buyer from 1994, that was in fact the new business owner of today!

A Mysterious Buyer for Fairways on the Horizon

Two speculative, possible buyers arrived at Fairways with a view to acquiring the business. Although this didn’t result in an acquisition at the time who knows what could happen in the future.

Fairways Goes from Strength to Strength

10 years has passed since the birth of Fairways with never a dull day to be seen. With less secretarial business being carried out and more and more recruitment requirements increasing for local businesses, lots of new clients and contracts, both large and small, are being won by Fairways due to the high quality of candidate being offered to clients.

Fairways is Born

June 1984

Fairways Business Services, later to become Fairways Recruitment Agency, was born. In its very early days Fairways started its operation as a secretarial services firm supplying typing services to companies and individuals all over Scotland including book writers and a comedienne. Very quickly the business adapted and became a recruiting business. At that time the business operation was served from offices in Watergate, Perth until 2010.
